Schools order them differently — in volume, with a specific page count, ruling and cover design mandated for each standard. Both are routine work for us, and the specifications barely overlap.
What should a branded notebook cost-wise prioritise?
Paper quality inside, not decoration outside. A notebook with a beautiful cover and paper that bleeds through when written on with a gel pen gets abandoned after two pages. 70 to 80 GSM inner paper is the realistic minimum for a notebook that will actually be used.
The second consideration is binding. Spiral and wire-o notebooks open flat, which matters when someone writes in them at a desk. Perfect-bound notebooks look neater closed but do not lie flat, which makes them better as gifts than as working books.
