Large format is everything printed too big for a sheet-fed press — banners, hoarding sheets, event backdrops, roll-up standees, shop fascias, window graphics, wall coverings and vehicle vinyl.
It is also the category where material choice matters more than print quality. A stunning design printed on the wrong media will curl, fade or tear within weeks; a simple design on the right media will still look presentable a year later.
What material should a banner be printed on?
It depends on where it will hang and for how long. Indoor backdrops and event banners are usually printed on star flex or fabric, which looks better under lighting and photographs without glare. Outdoor banners exposed to sun and rain need a heavier flex with UV-stable ink.
Short-term promotional banners and long-term shop signage are genuinely different purchases, and buying outdoor-grade material for a three-day event is as wasteful as buying indoor material for a year on a building facade. Tell us the location and the duration and we will specify accordingly.

How this is priced
Large format is normally quoted by area — per square foot — with the media grade and finishing driving the rate. Eyelets, hemming, mounting and framing are additional and worth specifying upfront, because a banner delivered without the right fixing is not usable on site.
Ordering in bulk? Multi-site rollouts — the same signage across a chain of outlets, or a set of standees for a roadshow — are priced better as one order. Send the full list of sizes and locations together.

Less than people expect. Large format is read from a distance, so a hoarding does not need the same DPI as a business card. What matters more is that artwork is vector where possible, and that any photographs are large enough not to pixelate at the final size. Send us the file and we will tell you if it will hold up.
Sun does more damage than rain. Outdoor-grade flex with UV-stable ink handles a season comfortably; cheaper media in direct afternoon sun fades noticeably faster. We will tell you which grade we are quoting so the expectation is set correctly.
Installation can be arranged for many jobs, including vinyl application and signage fitting. Mention the site and mounting situation when you enquire so we can confirm what is practical.
Up to the media width, yes. Beyond that the print is produced in panels and welded or joined — standard practice for hoardings, and the seam is planned to fall where it is least noticeable in the design.
