Receipt books are used where money changes hands in person — a society collecting maintenance, a trust taking a donation, an institute collecting fees, a clinic taking a consultation payment.

The requirements are unglamorous and specific: it has to be numbered, it has to tear cleanly, the copy underneath has to be legible, and the paper has to take a ballpoint without tearing. Get those right and the rest is straightforward.

What should a receipt book include?

A serial number on every set, at least one duplicate copy retained in the book, a perforation so the original tears out cleanly, and clearly ruled fields for date, received from, amount in words and figures, purpose and signature.

Serial numbering is the part that matters most and the part most often left out of cheap books. Without unique sequential numbers, a receipt book cannot be reconciled and provides no audit trail at all.

Why order this from us

Sequential numbering as standard

Every set uniquely numbered across all copies, so books can be reconciled properly.

Perforated for a clean tear

The original comes out cleanly without pulling the retained copy with it.

Colour-coded copies

Different sheet colours per copy make sorting for accounts far quicker.

Paper that takes a pen

Stock chosen so it does not tear under a ballpoint and the copy underneath stays legible.

Typical use cases

What people order this for

  • A housing society issuing maintenance receipts to members
  • A trust issuing donation receipts at a collection drive
  • A coaching class issuing fee receipts to parents
  • A clinic issuing consultation payment receipts
  • A small retailer issuing handwritten receipts where a printed bill is not used

How this is priced

Receipt books are priced per book, driven by size, number of copies per set, sets per book and quantity. Carbonless paper costs more than plain but removes the need for loose carbon sheets entirely, which most users find worth it.

Ordering in bulk? Receipt books are consumed steadily, so ordering a year's supply at once is usually cheaper. Confirm the starting serial number with your order so numbering continues from your existing books rather than restarting.

Yes. Tell us the starting number and the sequence will continue from there rather than resetting, which keeps your audit trail intact.

Carbon books need a loose carbon sheet placed between copies each time. Carbonless (NCR) paper transfers the impression chemically, so nothing needs to be inserted. NCR costs a little more and is considerably more practical in daily use.

50 or 100 sets are the common options. Fifty makes a thinner, more portable book; a hundred means fewer books to manage. Choose based on how quickly you get through them.

Yes — name, address, registration numbers and logo can all be pre-printed, which is both faster in use and looks considerably more official than a rubber stamp.
